Our mission is to glorify God, make disciples who pursue Jesus, and share His Story. This mission is the driving force for everything we do, from events to worship on Sundays.

Our Mission
Glorify God
As the Body of Christ, we will focus our lives on worship that is saturated in the spirit of the Gospel and always declares the Truth that is Jesus Christ (John 4:23-24).
As Christians, we will seek to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, and love our neighbor as our self (Luke 10:27).
Make Disciples
As the Body of Christ, it will be our endless passion to produce devoted followers of Jesus, baptizing them, and teaching them to live in pursuit of Christ and replicate their faith in others (Matthew 28:19-20). As Christians, we are committed to a full, abundant, and joyful life on the narrow road (Matthew 7:13-14).
Share His Story
As the Body of Christ, we will focus our energies and resources on proclaiming the story of Jesus’s redeeming love for humanity. This will be our message to our generation (Acts 5:42; Romans 15:20)!
As Christians we are obligated to know and share the story of how Christ has personally transformed our lives (1 Peter 3:15).

Our Beliefs
Below are our core doctrinal beliefs. These are covered in detail in our Seedbed membership classes. For now, click the arrows in the boxes below to learn more about our beliefs.
God
We believe in the one and only living and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, yet one in nature and purpose (often referred to as the Trinity).
Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, yet He became flesh (incarnation), being born of a virgin, and died as a sacrifice for the sins of all people on the cross.
The Bible
We believe the Bible was written by persons divinely inspired, and it is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.
Humanity
We believe that mankind was created by the act of God and in the image of God. Yet sin has separated us all from God, and we have no hope for fellowship with God now or in eternity apart from the death of Jesus on the cross for our sins.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the free gift of God offered to all who accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by faith, and that God has put Jesus Christ forward as the one and only way to enter into God's family.
The Church
We believe the New Testament church is a local body of believers who have come together by believer’s baptism for the purpose of promoting the good news of Jesus around the world through worship, evangelism, ministry, fellowship, and discipleship.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Our church recognizes two ordinances, meaning religious acts done for their deep symbolic meaning, which are believer’s baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper, sometimes called communion.
The Future
Our church believes in the promise of Christ that He will return, and that the timing of this is known only in the heart of God, so our duty is to be prepared and to diligently spread the good news of Christ until that time.
Our History
In 1840, the Salem Meeting House was officially designated a church by residents who had been gathering there for worship for a time. Three parcels of land had been donated by three families, and construction of the meeting house began. Reverend Stephen Senter was the first pastor, traveling to the area for one service a month, receiving the $30 yearly salary that had been raised to support his service.
From that first one-room building to the current 22-acre campus with over 120,000 square feet of worship and educational facilities, Salem has been a dynamic presence in a dramatically changing community. As was written in the records of the 1840 meeting, “This church (Salem) recently constituted under very favorable circumstances though their number is small, yet the prospects of an increase are very flattering for the work of the Lord is progressing in the neighborhood.” Salem now celebrates its heritage every year on the fourth Sunday of October with an event we call Harvest Day.
